Emmie: Father's Day

Emmie has had a very busy week, full of a trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house, a new swimming pool, Father's Day and the discovery of her feet! Mommy and Daddy decided to visit their friends in Chicago over Father's Day weekend, so Emmie got to spend the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa.

Emmie's weekend started off a little rough because she was running a fever. We think she is getting ready to cut some teeth, so she was mighty crabby when she arrived at Grandma's house. She cheered up though after she pulled the tail of Grandma's cat "Itty Bitty Kitty". Needless to say, Itty Bitty Kitty wasn't happy, but Emmie was smiling.

Grandma thinks Emmie is brilliant for several new reasons....First, Emmie now calls Grandma by name, or so Grandma says. Grandma says that Emmie says "Gee, Gee", when she sees her. She also thinks that Emmie gives kisses. Emmie's "kisses" is when Grandma puts her cheek to Emmie's mouth and Emmie licks. ICK! Lastly, Emmie waved goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa on the last day of her vacation. Waving or flailing, we won't dispute!

Emmie had lots of visitors, including Grandma's work friends and cousins, Lauren and Tyler. Lauren and Tyler had Emmie laughing so hard that Grandma had to call Mommy in Chicago to let her listen.

Emmie also went to Aunt Kara's house for a BBQ. Aunt Kara thought she was very funny when she let her cat, Buffy play with Emmie's toys. We have a blog to follow dedicated to Kara, keep posted!

When Emmie got home from her "vacation" she was exhausted and slept great that night! Daddy was so happy to get back from Chicago that he bought her a swimming pool. Emmie doesn't know what to think of yet, mostly she just likes to try and drink the water.

She also discovered her feet sometime this week. They seem to be her new favorite toy. Unfortunately, it makes changing her diaper difficult because once she gets ahold of them, she rolls around to keep ahold of them. She also can't wear toenail polish anymore because she now picks it off her toes.

Emmie had a great week. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for being her babysitters for the weekend!
