Emmie: Naples, Florida

This past week, Emmie was lucky enough to take a trip to Naples, Florida. Papa and Gee had a condo for the month of November and we were lucky enough to be invited down for a week.

Emmie had never been on a plane before so Mommy was a tad bit nervous. We got to the Omaha airport at 4:30 AM to get through security. Even at such an early hour, Emmie was in great spirits. Mommy was not as chipper! Some how, Mommy looked like a suspicious person, which warranted a full body pat-down. She passed! Emmie flew on two planes, a total of 5 hours and didn't make a peep. However, Mommy gave Emmie the airplane magazines to rip and shred into little pieces. Emmie enjoyed that thoroughly!

When we got to Naples, Papa, Nana, Aunt Kara, Uncle Scott and Great-Aunt Cindy were waiting anxiously to see Emmie. Emmie spent her week in Naples doing all sorts of fun things. She shopped, swam in the pool, dipped her toes in the ocean, threw sand at the beach, ate at fabulous restaurants, enjoyed munching on limes and lemons, and hooted and hollered at the top of her lungs. Emmie also learned several new tricks. She now can sit up from a lying down position, learned peak-a-boo, waves bye bye, raises her arms for a touchdown, and learned the "How big is Emmie" game. She was a busy bee in Naples.

The flight home didn't go as well. Mommy got charged extra for her suitcase. Grandma forgot her license so she couldn't wait with us at our plane. Our flight coming in was late. Then, the air conditioner in our plane broke, so we were forced to sit on a hot plane on the runway for 1.5 hours. Finally, our plane took off and landed in Detroit. Unfortunately, we missed our flight in Detroit and had to wait 5 hours to catch the next one. During this time, Emmie never fussed or cried. She enjoyed chicken strips at Chilis and people watching in the airport. We finally got home at 9pm, but we were happy to be there!

We had a great time in Naples and hope to go back next year! Hint Hint
