Emilynn's first 6 weeks have been very exciting! She was born on January 26, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Mommy was only in labor for a few hours and very happy about that! Emilynn weighed 8lbs and was 19.5 inches at birth. She now is around 11 lbs and 21.5 inches long, per Mommy and Daddy estimation.

Grandma and Grandpa VanVooren, or as they preferred to be called, "Oma and Opa" came to visit for a week the day after Emmie was born. Opa took lots of pictures of Emmie to be added later. Mommy and Daddy were very grateful for the visit because of all the cooking and cleaning Oma and Opa accomplished. Several weeks later, Emmie made her first 5 hour car ride to Oma and Opa's house. She slept the entire way! Oma hosted a party for Emmie, but she slept through all of the festivities. She did get to meet Great-Grandma "Momo", cousins, aunts and uncles, and friends. A good time was had by all.

Emmie is a very happy, calm baby. She sleeps 4-6 hours at night and takes catnaps during the day. Things Emmie loves...kisses, her vibrating swing, being held by Oma, her playmat and raspberries on her belly. She makes her dislikes known...bathtime (unless at Oma's), baby lotion, her clothing being changed, and long car rides.
