This past week, Emmie and Mommy went to Grandma and Grandpa's house so Emmie could get baptised, Mommy could catch up on some much needed sleep and so Grandma and Grandpa could get some precious Emmie time. Emmie enjoyed all the extra attention from everyone! We were lucky enough to hear Emmie laugh for the first time, oddly enough it was when we were undressing her. Normally, she hates having her clothes changed. Grandma has bought Emmie so many "Designer Duds" that she gets her clothes changed often.

Emmie's days were jam-packed with activities while on "vacation". Grandpa read Emmie The Wizard of Oz daily, Aunt Kara visited everyday for some snuggles, and we got to see Great-Grandma Momo twice! Emmie has found her "voice" thanks to daily chats with Grandma. We have noticed that she is babbling more and has begun to make cooing noises when happy or when we talk to her. She smiles everyday and we can't get enough of those smiles!

Emmie was baptised on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the First Congregational Church in Moline. She wore Grandma's baptism dress from 60 years ago. She did great at the baptism; she slept the entire time! Mommy and Daddy have had such a busy year. In 12 months, they have gotten married, built a house, had Emmie and bought a new car. Hopefully 2010 will bring even more happiness!
