Emmie had her 2 month check-up today. Daddy had to work the evening shift, so Mommy had to bear this task alone. Emmie got A+ in all developmental areas. She is strong, smart and pretty, so says her doctor. She was a delight the majority of the visit, until the dreaded shots. Emmie now weighs 12 pounds (77th percentile) and is 24 3/4 inches long (99th percentile). She is smiling, cooing, tracking visual items and is able to hold her head up and steady. The doctor had no concerns and told Mommy to keep up the good work. Unfortunately, Emmie had to have three shots, which she took like a trooper minus a little yelling. She proceeded to fall asleep after the shots and is still sleeping as Mommy types.
On a side note, Emmie's favorite thing to do these days is to play in her gym. She laughs and talks to the dangling animals for 20-30 minutes at a time. She loves to play in the gym minus her socks. Daddy repeatedly will put Emmie's socks on and Emmie promptly works those little socks off. Grandma pointed out this morning that Emmie is missing her socks in quite a few pictures. Mommy thinks Emmie is just trying to tell us that she is ready for summer!
