Emmie had her four month check-up today. She passed with flying colors. She weighs 14 1/2 pounds, which is the 72nd percentile. She is 26 inches tall, which is the 98th percentile. She also has met or surpassed all of her motor and speech developmental goals. Our pediatrician gave us the green light to start rice and oat cereal since Emmie has been so hungry lately. Emmie was a delight the entire doctors visit. She smiled and babbled at all of the nurses and doctors until she had to have her shots. Poor baby!
This week, Emmie has learned that she is able to roll over. She can roll back to front and vice versa. She also can roll either direction, left/right. Our doctor said that she was "way ahead of the game" in her motor skills. Emmie is occasionally lazy though. She continues to despise tummy time. She has learned that she can roll to her side and relax. Unfortunately for her, she then realizes she has to go back to her tummy, or roll over. Rolling over seems to be her preference!
Emmie continues to enjoy her daily evening walks with Mom and Dad. We have decided that she needs some sunglasses though because the only time we hear an unhappy cry from her is when the sun is in her eyes.
