Emmie: Mother's Day/Mommy's birthday

So this past week, Emmie made the journey to Grandma and Grandpa's house again. This is the second time that Emmie has stayed without Mommy. She loves Grandma and Grandpa, so we are unsure if she missed us at all. She got to stay with them for 4 whole days for Mother's Day and because it was Mommy's birthday. Mommy got to spend some time with her friends. She got a pedicure and went shopping while Emmie was gone. However, the only thing she bought was a bikini for Emmie!

When at Grandma and Grandpa's house, Emmie is immersed in the arts! Her day is spent learning literature, art and music. Grandma and Grandpa read to her, sing and dance with her, and do arts and crafts time. Emmie loves the Wizard of Oz with Grandpa and dancing to Elvis Presley with Grandma. Mommy shares the love of Elvis Presley with Emmie. Emmie's other favorite music is Johnny Cash, along with Mommy!

Following this last visit, Grandma is convinced that Emmie is a genius. She thinks this because Emmie says "Grandma". This is per Grandma report, but Mommy has only heard Emmie say "Mommy"! Grandma also says that Emmie is "the most spectacular baby ever and every other baby pales in comparison". Can you tell that this is Grandma's first grandbaby!

Emmie also got to spend time with her favorite Aunt Kara. Emmie got to cuddle with Kara, watch some tv, scare Kara's cat Buffy, and laugh at funny Uncle Scott. Emmie seems to think all men are funny. She thinks Grandpa is a hoot too!

Mommy sure was glad that Emmie came back on Sunday. However, Emmie was exhausted from all the playing that she did and could barely keep her eyes open. Mommy did convince her to try on her new bikini and play in her exersaucer for a bit. She told Mommy that she is looking forward to her next vacation to Grandma's house and this time she wants to see that Momo!
