Grandma and Grandpa's House

This past Wednesday, Emmie had her first "vacation". Mommy drove Emmie to Des Moines and Grandpa and Grandma picked her up and drove her to their house. Emmie was very excited for this trip because she had seen Grandma and Grandpa in two whole weeks!

First up, Grandpa drove Emmie straight to Aunt Kara's house. Aunt Kara wanted to see "her baby" and had some presents for Emmie. Aunt Kara, Grandpa and Grandma are die hard Chicago Cubs fans, so hence a Chicago Cubs outfit for Emmie. Funny thing is...Daddy hates the Cubs, he is a Chicago White Sox fan. We are thinking Aunt Kara might have bought this outfit on purpose! Either way, Emmie loves her new duds from Aunt Kara. She also has been seen frequently wearing a "My Auntie Loves Me" sleeper. Wonder who could have bought that for her...

On Thursday, Grandma's best friend, Mrs. Trent came over for a visit. Emmie really liked Mrs. Trent and showered her with smiles and giggles til Mrs. Trent rocked her asleep. This gave Grandma and Mrs. Trent time for their favorite hobby...shopping and Grandpa watched Emmie for the afternoon.

On Friday, Emmie went to Great Grandma Momo's house. Emmie loves Momo! Momo is much better at getting Emmie to belly laugh then the rest of us. Mommy must learn her secret! Grandma's sister, Aunt Cindy, came over to Momo's house to meet Emmie. From what we heard, Aunt Cindy thinks she is very cute! We have to say we agree!

On Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa were exhausted so they spent the day taking pictures of Emmie. Emmie loves to be the center of attention and pictures are right up her alley!

Mommy was very glad to get Emmie back today. She did great on the car ride home, just one pitstop for a feeding. Mommy was a little worried that Emmie wouldn't remember her after four days, but Emmie was all smiles and belly laughs when she saw Mommy. Mommy's cats were also excited to get Emmie back. They have been by her side since she came home. Esmerelda, the oldest cat, howled in Emmie's bedroom each day. It was driving Mommy a little crazy.

Emmie had a great trip and looks forward to seeing Grandma and Grandpa again in a few weeks. She is still waiting for her invitation to Aunt Kara's for a slumber party! We are sure Grandpa and Grandma are exhausted. Grandpa has said that Emmie is an easy baby to take care of, just constant! Emmie is now sleeping 7 to 10 hours straight at night, so Mommy thinks she has it pretty good!

Mommy has posted some pictures that Grandma and Grandpa took. Unfortunately, they forgot to take pictures with themselves in them..or Momo...or Aunt Kara. Mommy will have to do a better job next time she comes to visit! Enjoy the pictures!
