Mommy has Wednesdays off work, so she figures that it is a good day to blog about Emmie and her adventures. She has been thinking about taking pictures of Emmie's "she-mullet". Emmie only has hair on the back of her head, hence her "she-mullet". Emmie has lots of bows to wear in her head, sadly that just don't look very good attached to that small clump of hair.
Emmie has been practicing sitting and tummy time this week. She absolutely hates tummy time, but she needs to get better at it. Grandma and Grandpa were given strict instructions last week to have tummy time with her, but this didn't occur. Emmie howls when she is placed on her tummy, and Grandma said "I don't do anything that would upset my Emmie". So Mommy has been stuck being the bad guy. She is getting better and now can sit up for short periods of time in the Bumbo chair!
Emmie is now sleeping through the night. Mommy types this with her fingers crossed. On Sunday night, she slept 8 hours straight and Monday night, she slept 7 hours straight. Just in time for her slumber party at Aunt Kara's house (feel free to RSVP below Aunt Kara).
Emmie's new thing that she has discovered this week is...licking. Anything that comes near her, she gets a taste of! Things that Emmie has licked so far...Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, the boppy, her animal toys, the swing and....Esmerelda, the cat even got a lick yesterday. Needless to say, Esmerelda was not happy with the baby. Esmerelda and Midgie, our two cats, love Emmie to pieces, but normally they don't come within reaching distance of Emmie. They do sleep in her room at night and if Emmie is on Mommy's bed, they sleep near her. Wherever Emmie goes, they seem to follow.
Well that is all for this week. Enjoy the pictures!

Well, last night she was up every 3 hours, ugh. I just try and wear her out in the evening. The last couple of nights, I've swaddled her, which I hadn't been doing. Who knows what works and what doesn't. Last night, she pooped in the middle of the night and then after that she didn't want to sleep.
