Unfortunately, Emmie hasn't had that exciting of a week. She has had some sniffles and not feeling the greatest, so she has had to be low-key. The best thing she did all week was go to Sears and buy a lawnmower and weed-eater. I'm not sure if she had fun, but Daddy is excited about his "new toys".
Speaking of Daddy...He had now figured out that Emmie can have Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, and Nebraska football outfits, ugh. Thanks Aunt Kara for starting the sports trend!
Emmie is doing a few new exciting things. She is starting to sit up on her own. We have been putting her in her boppy and calling her name and she will sit up. She thinks this is great fun and will roar with laughter when she loses her balance. Mommy wishes she had her abs of steel! She also has been "talking" quite a bit more. She loves to talk to Mommy when she comes home from work. Emmie is beginning to imitate movements and attempts sounds, so Mommy is working on "ma ma ma". At four months, baby begin to string syllables together, so Mommy has high hopes that she will be hearing ma, ma, ma soon. Unfortunately, the speech therapist in Mommy knows that M is a later developing sound and more likely we will be hearing, da da da. She has also moved on to attempting to remove her pants. First, her socks, then her pants. Mommy is thinking I'm going to be that parent with the naked toddler running around the house!
This week, Mommy packed up all her maternity clothes and put them in the basement. This is part of her "lose weight" motivation. She won't tell you how much she gained with Emmie, but it was ALOT! Mommy is doing great with the weight loss and has lost over 50% of what she wants to lose!
Next Wednesday, Mommy's 31st birthday, Emmie is going to Grandma and Grandpa's house again! Hopefully they will take some pictures of themselves this time!
